We just wrapped up the inaugural #Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation (#SENT) Startup Competition this weekend at Morehouse College with teams from Savannah State, Fisk, Alabama A&M, Spelman, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Devry, Georgia State, and others. Students presented innovative new ventures and social enterprises. I can’t wait to see the impact these ventures have when they launch! Congratulations to first and second place winners in the #socialentrepreneurship category #LiteArcy (Mya Swaby, Georgia State U) and #Anadir (Tyler Greene and Kasai Rogers, Morehouse College) and first and second place winners in the #innovation category #PrototypeClothiers (Caleb Justin Dixon Morehouse College) and #DARK - Defining All Realms of Knowledge (Devion Dukes, Devry U). Thanks to all the teams, our wonderful student managers Kahlil Shaifer Jr. and Sydney Payne, the stellar keynote and book signing by Justin Bayless, impactful remarks Keith Burks (who also served as a judge), and the most impressive group of judges I’ve ever had the privilege of working with: Dr. Stacey D. Reynolds, Renee Just, PhD, EdD, Jason Crain, Patrick J. Murphy, Vincent E. Mangum, Ph.D., Lavonya Jones, Stacey Key, Sonji Franklin. Kudos to our hard working student photographer, Isaiah Johnson (unfortunately, I must share my mediocre pictures for the posting)! Finally, the amazing lady who put this all together and planned a wonderful event, Carmella Lennon, Ph.D. Hats off to you!!!
