Events are where we network, where deals are made, and where good conversations happen, and all three are happening here in Toronto in spades.
We've had a strong first half of the day.
GoCanvas CEO Viyas Sundaram and BuiltWorlds Executive Chairman Matthew Gray kicked us off with a one-on-one conversation, tackling the exceptionally big topic of innovation and the advancement of technology in the AEC industry.
The topic of preconstruction was front and center in the session immediately following, with leaders from Bespoke Metrics Inc., Matterport, Tucker Technology Consulting and STACK Construction Technologies doing some educated speculating on where technologies in the category are heading, from AI, advanced analytics, and automation to novel collaboration capabilities.
Next we heard from equipment and robotics experts from Pomerleau and Kubota Canada Ltd., who fielded questions on how larger contractors should be thinking and approaching the increasingly sophisticated and applicable technologies appearing in the category.
Artificial intelligence was, of course, a huge topic of conversation all week, but we shined a specific spotlight on it during our panel featuring innovators and insiders from EllisDon, Canam, Augmenta, and DivcoWest. Our panelists explored AI not just as an exciting concept, but as a real-world technology with myriad applications throughout the construction process.
And taking us into lunch and closing out the first half of the Toronto Summit's final day, experts from Bird Construction, Promise Robotics, and UNB Off-site Construction Research Centre took the stage to provide a wide range of perspectives on the current applications and capabilities as well as the future potential of offsite fabrication techniques.
Ready for the afternoon. Let's go!
