??Industry professionals recently gathered at NOI Techpark Bolzano for a session focused on advancing synergies and innovation in the construction sector. #STARtrackB4P, represented by Roberto Lollini from Eurac Research, contributed to the ongoing dialogue on promoting sustainability and circularity within the industry. The day featured insightful presentations on: ?? IDM/Eurac: Synergies for innovation in the construction sector. ?? SustainaBuild: Objectives, strategies, and activities focused on sustainability and circularity. ?? ProRamus: Objectives, strategies, and activities focused on the wood industry. ??The session concluded with a workshop exploring joint innovation opportunities for a more sustainable future. Key discussion points included: ?? Studying the use of building materials in Südtirol/AltoAdige and exploring how material mixing optimises structure, energy efficiency, and impact. ?? Developing reliable performance metrics to assess energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and environmental impact, starting with whole life carbon (WLC). ?? Addressing workforce qualifications to ensure a highly skilled and certified labour force. ?? Exploring the distinction between light vs. heavy construction methods and high vs. low-tech approaches. ?? Improving construction efficiency through lean construction practices, digitalisation, and off-site methods. ??e-CODOMH Cluster and EBETAM A.E. - MIRTEC S.A. recently had the pleasure of hosting a three-day meeting and collaborative discussion in Athens, Greece, alongside Metabuilding ASBL and #STARtrackB4P project partners. The visit included a tour of the e-CODOMH cluster premises and its pilot-scale demo building. In the demo building, new construction products developed through e-CODOMH’s first nationally funded collaborative project are integrated and tested. These products are evaluated for performance under real-world conditions. The visit also included a tour of MIRTEC’s premises in Athens and its laboratories in Thiva and Volos. MIRTEC recently officially joined the #MetabuildingASBL, the entry point to Metabuilding Labs—an Open Innovation Test Bed for the construction sector, providing innovation services and access to 100+ testing facilities across the EU. ???STAR*track aims to strengthen collaboration within the Built4People ecosystem, supporting innovation and market-ready solutions for a sustainable European built environment. ??
