This week, we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, highlighting the transformative impact of apprenticeships on building a skilled and inclusive workforce. Today, NAW 2024 honors Women in Apprenticeships, recognizing their growing contributions to the skilled trades. While women make up just 11% of construction workers, programs like these are breaking barriers and creating opportunities. At Building Talent Foundation, we’re proud to support women through mentorship, and connections to employers committed to diversity. To all the women apprentices: you inspire us, and we’re here to help you succeed! #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #WomenInTrades #WomenInApprenticeships #SkilledTrades #BuildingTalentFoundation

???? Incredible day at Charles R. Drew High School where students dove headfirst into exploring careers in homebuilding! ???? What an incredible morning with the bright, engaged, and curious students at Charles R. Drew High School! They came ready to learn and eager to dive into the world of homebuilding careers. ??? The highlight? When Chip Dunn, Neighborhood Construction Manager at Stanley Martin Homes threw out this curveball: “How long do you think it takes to build a home?” Responses ranged from two months to six months—and you should have seen their faces when Chip revealed he once built a home in just 24 days! Then he showed them the video! ???? Mind-blowing! The energy in the room was contagious as students leaned in, asked insightful questions, and sparked real conversations about the skills and opportunities in construction. From career paths to day-to-day experiences, they wanted to know it all—and we were thrilled to share! These students are the future, and their enthusiasm for learning about homebuilding was inspiring. A huge thank you to Principal Dr. Tangela Benjamin, Assistant Principal Jesse L. Griffin and WBL Coordinator Miranda Scott, MBA-MAT for the warm welcome and opportunity for Building Talent Foundation engage these young minds. And a massive shoutout to Stanley Martin Homes for their dedication to workforce development and giving back to the next generation! Here’s to building futures, one presentation at a time! ???? #FutureBuilders #WorkforceDevelopment #Homebuilding
