??This is BIG news!??
? #CalEnergy adopted the 2025 Energy Code today, which creates an estimated $4.8 billion in energy savings. ?? The updated code is an example of how California leads in improving building efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. ?? In new buildings, the code supports electric heat pumps, electric home appliances, and solar development, ensuring California has the infrastructure to create a 100% CLEAN future for all. “The 2025 Energy Code extends California’s leadership in the creation of a built environment that embodies our innovation-based economy and expands the use of the clean, cost-effective technologies upon which our sustainable future depends,” said Commissioner J. Andrew McAllister, who is the lead commissioner for energy efficiency at the CEC. ?? After approval from the California Building Standards Commission, the code would go into effect January 1, 2026.
