Building resilience is critical in the face of increasing natural disasters.
关于我们
The Building Resilience Index is an innovation of IFC, a member of the World Bank Group focused on private sector development. The Index is a risk-mapping and resilience assessment tool for the real estate industry, which standardizes and quantifies disaster risk, and creates a system of reporting on adaptation and resilience. The Index includes a free App that evaluates location-specific, climate and natural disaster-related risks for a real estate project, and assigns a standardized letter grade of resilience based on adaptation measures implemented. The App is designed for stakeholders in the real estate sector, including financial institutions, lenders, developers, insurers, buyers, and governments. The offering is part of the broader Technical and Advisory services from IFC to assist clients.

Something for your #Climateresilience Reading List! We recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding why resilience matters in buildings, how it can preserve wealth and help the community mainly in mid and low income categories, thanks to Aris Papadopoulos and Resilience Action Fund. The #BuildingResilienceIndex program was established to use these principles with finance to scale up resilience in the emerging markets.
‘ResilieNomics - Value in an Age of Disasters’?is now?shipping! Following Aris Papadopoulos's first book?'Resilience - The Ultimate Sustainability',?it examines resilience from an economics lens and analyzes development as a marketplace, with a focus on households: - Where and what to buy or rent? - Where and what to build? - When to sell and leave? - What home improvements to prioritize? - How to be a resilient-smart consumer? - Building and securing your household wealth with resilience It further addresses how insurance became a casino, measuring resilience, the role of technology, the need for more transparency, policies that help and hurt resilience and how resilience will drive future property values. The book recommends a way forward to reduce the catastrophic economic, physical and social consequences of a growing hazard-risk property bubble. Pleased to see our recent workshop in Vi?t Nam received coverage in the media -- the need for #climateresilience is of particular importance in countries that are more vulnerable to the natural hazards associated with #climatechange. "While the transportation sector in Vi?t Nam is shifting towards greener practices with more electric cars on the road, the building sector is not really on track, according to Ommid Saberi, the global lead for the #BuildingResilienceIndex Programme at the IFC - International Finance Corporation. Ommid Saberi was speaking at the workshop 'Enhancing Resilience for Buildings' on Friday. He highlighted IFC's definition of resilient buildings, which can withstand the natural disasters and climate hazards they are exposed to, and ideally continue their operations without disruption following a crisis." ??
