So … this weekend marked two months since I was involuntarily separated from a position I really liked. And okay, one of those months was December and I am not sure that even counts when it comes to job hunting.
Anyhow, two months, amazingly, and I finally feel like my resume is where I want it. Stop here for a quick shout to my ever growing network of connections. Good people looking out and making connections to good people, all willing to provide really good feedback on the resume + more. ??
Two months, and *maybe* I can say I am now ready to start mindfully & purposefully looking.
Some Lessons Learned here:
* Lesson 1: Always have your resume locked and loaded. Period.
* Lesson 2: Never stop with (professional) networking.?
- LinkedIn is pretty good for that.
- 4 interviews in January. 3 of 4 were made possible through connections. ??
* Lesson 3: IMO Never allow your LinkedIn Premium subscription to lapse.
- Clear value over many of the pricey and questionable services out there.
- LinkedIn Learning alone (which in disclosure my last co. offered as a perk) makes it worth it.
I have been working to “UpSkill” (as a friend called it) and Learn -? on C#, Selenium in Java, Cypress, Google Ads, GA4, Microservices, STLC, Business Analysis, UML and a list of about 20 more I have identified and have yet to start. Always so much to learn. ... and do.
About halfway through reupping my CSM, cleaning up long neglected websites - https://webcontent-jb.com and even dusting off my one time reason for being https://BuildingMoxie.com. Kinda researching a new launch of something. And even half looking at a Masters - idk - $$.
I am thankful for the opportunity to do (as I told a former colleague) - “You know, all the things I wanted to do but couldn't when I had a job.“
Please take a deep look at my profile for those transferable skills, many that I feel would benefit anyone in need of a talented, creative and personable person on their staff.
Thank you.?I know am not the only one.
