This retreat provides young people with an opportunity to grow spiritually, build leadership skills, and connect with their peers in a supportive and uplifting environment. This week, Building London Bridges had the incredible opportunity to speak with students in the Mayor Marion S. Barry's Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) a locally funded initiative sponsored by the Department of Employment Services (DOES)!?MBSYEP has been equipping D.C. youth, ages 14 to 17, with essential life skills and work readiness for 45 years.? ? On the Eagle Academy Campus in SE Washington, DC, we dove into the power of real estate and the importance of building wealth and financial freedom. Homeownership and real estate investment rates among African Americans are significantly lower than other races, making it vital to plant the seeds of financial literacy and investment awareness early. By understanding real estate and financial vocabulary early, these youth can establish a strong foundation for wealth and stability for themselves and future generations.? ? We were impressed by the student’s engagement, participation in live deal calculations, and small business presentation! A heartfelt thank you to Healthy Babies Project Inc. for having us!
