BCxA Northwest Chapter at the Leadership Conference in Salt Lake City! This week, we’re not just collaborating with commissioning industry leaders—we’re also reflecting on how Essentialism shapes our roles and impact. By focusing on what truly matters, we can maximize the value we bring to our members and the built community. Commissioning is all about precision and effectiveness, and Essentialism reinforces the power of doing less, but better. Through these conversations, we’re refining our purpose, strengthening our leadership, and driving meaningful change in the industry. #BCxA #Commissioning #Essentialism #Leadership #BuiltEnvironment #Collaboration John M. Introducing the Northwest Chapter BCxA Board of Directors Monthly Spotlight! Have you ever wondered why people join the BCxA Board of Directors or what motivates them to get involved? We’re excited to launch our new monthly spotlight series, highlighting the dedicated individuals who help drive our chapter forward. ? First up is Nathan Aring from ElevateBCx, the Communications Director for the Northwest Chapter BCxA and a committed leader in the commissioning community. ? 1. What inspired you to become a member of the BCxA? I’ve been drinking the BCxA Kool-Aid since starting in the industry, thanks to one of my early mentors who was a founding member of the organization. The BCxA has proven invaluable for its community, knowledge, training, and advocacy. ? 2. What has been the most valuable part of participating in the BCxA? Knowledge sharing with members has been crucial. Learning the commissioning process, applying it to different systems, and sharing experiences—both formally and informally—continues to be invaluable. ? 3. Can you share something surprising about yourself? I’ve taken two sabbaticals to travel the world. Nowadays, I most often travel as a mule, as pictured! ? 4. How has your professional background shaped your BCxA role? My commissioning experience allows me to share knowledge with industry newcomers while continuing to learn. I now own a commissioning business with my brother. Despite limited time, contributing to the Northwest BCxA Chapter has been rewarding—I assist with communications, membership outreach, and planning chapter initiatives. ? 5. What advice would you give to those looking to get involved in the BCxA? Reach out! Our niche industry is full of people eager to share their experiences and insights. Attend a quarterly education topic via the Northwest Region BCxA website and get involved—it’s a great way to give back to the community! Stay tuned for more spotlights as we continue to introduce the faces behind the Northwest Chapter BCxA Board of Directors.
