"When I was admitted into the W.E. Build Accelerator, there was a feeling of excitement. I knew this was a big opportunity, but I wasn't sure what to expect. From the moment the program began, I realized that I had made the right choice." - Margo Falls (W.E. Build Cohort 2) ??? ?????? How W.E. Build Transformed Me as a Founder ?????? My journey began at Build in Tulsa's Female Founders Pitch Night. That experience made applying for W.E. Build feel natural and exciting. It wasn't that I was certain of acceptance, but I knew they truly valued me as a person. Regardless of the outcome, I felt confident I could always turn to them for support. Once accepted, Build in Tulsa went above and beyond to foster community among founders, even before we met in person. They created virtual opportunities for us to connect, clearly communicated expectations, and provided a detailed schedule to help us plan our lives during the program. That level of communication was crucial, especially when preparing to be away from my family for an extended period. "From securing funding for my MVP to connecting with mentors who helped me land my first clients, W.E. Build gave me more than just resources—it gave me the confidence to launch & grow my business." - Ashley Yearby, Founder of STB Technologies ?? Read more about Ashley Yearby experience in The Build in Tulsa's W.E. Build Program: https://ow.ly/W1Ye50V9OJw ?? Applications for W.E. Build 2025 are now open! When I moved to Tulsa for Build in Tulsa Techstars Accelerator and Build in Tulsa, I thought I understood the story of #BlackWallStreet. I had read about Greenwood—the thriving district of Black-owned businesses, the doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who built something extraordinary in the early 1900s. And I had read about the destruction in 1921, when one of the most prosperous Black communities in America was burned to the ground. But being in Tulsa made it real. Walking the streets where Black entrepreneurs once built generational wealth, standing in the shadow of history, and meeting the people working to rebuild—not just businesses, but a legacy—was something I’ll never forget. Black Wall Street wasn’t just a place; it was proof of what’s possible when Black entrepreneurship is supported and empowered. And while the destruction was meant to erase that progress, it didn’t erase the resilience. The work being done today to rebuild Black Wall Street isn’t just about the past—it’s about the future. This Black History Month, I think about Tulsa, about the lessons of Greenwood, and about the responsibility we all have to make sure Black businesses, Black wealth, and Black success aren’t just remembered, but actively supported. Because history isn’t just something we reflect on—it’s something we shape. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackWallStreet #RebuildBlackWallStreet
