AI based BattleBots!

A friend of mine, and business partner in Beyond the Cloud, Fran?ois Heusdens is a CTO at a company developing games and virtual worlds, based on the Unity Engine. He gave me this tip about AI Robot Boxing, and it's wild !
There's this platform called Final Automata that's bringing the concept to life. Robots duking it out in a virtual ring, all powered by AI.
Final Automata was created by a small team using Unity which is a popular game engine. Final Automata is set in the year 2050, where humans have handed over the boxing gloves to AI-driven robots.
These bots train using advanced reinforcement learning techniques, and they've gotten pretty good at throwing punches.

Right now, there are only two competitors: Tuff and Ruff.
Tuff is the aggressive one, while Ruff is more defensive.
They have been training for over 250 days straight, and they have learned some impressive moves!
They can bounce and rotate with the agility of real fighters!
But the creators of Final Automata do not want to stop at boxing.
They have got big plans to train robots in various martial arts. They want to see which fighting style comes out on top in the AI world. This could be such a fun game changer for combat sports, and even human fighters might start studying AI techniques.
??
With only two fighter, Final Automata is still in early stage, but it is already building quite a fan base.
I think that people are honestly excited about the idea of AI-driven sports. People are talking about it online, speculating about future matchups, and even placing bets on the outcomes.
Speaking of betting, that is another aspect of the AI sports that is starting to take off.
Betting platforms join in
Some online platforms are already offering odds on Final Automata bots. It is a new thing, that AI sports betting, where algorithms and machine learning are the only players.
Betting on AI sports involves analyzing Tuff and Ruff by reviewing their past performances, the evolution of their fighting style, and any updates to their algorithms.
Bookies set odds based on these factors, similar to like they do with traditional sports betting. They let bettors to wage on match outcomes, specific winners, or other events like the number of rounds or potential knockouts. And some platforms even go so far as to offer in-play betting that lets users place bets during the match as they watch the AI's real-time decision-making and performance.
Unikrn is one of the leading platforms that is focusing on esports betting. And they where one of the first to expanded their offerings with AI-driven competitions. You can bet using crypto (Bitcoin, Similarly, Betfair). Another one is Stake which is known for its simplicity and user-friendly interface, and they have also entered the AI sports arena. Again with cryptocurrency betting and they cater to tech-savvy users.
It isn't big money yet, but with more AI sports being launched, it will certainly take off.

Others like Final Automata are joining in
Final Automata isn't the only one exploring AI combat sports. There are other platforms like Robo Rumble and AI Fight Club.
Robo Rumble focuses on AI wrestling, and AI Fight Club lets users train their own AI fighters.
Now that the first ones are on the market, we will see a whole new genre of sports emerge.
Think of AI leagues, championships, and even AI fighters at the Olympics! RayGun eat your heart out !
But as always there are a few hurdles to overcome. The AI needs to be creative and unpredictable like human combat athletes. But that is not so difficult as you think. We are of course talking about probabilistics when it comes to neural networks.
I think that in a few years, we will see gaming, robotics and AI merging into something truly futuristic. Think of BattleBots! This is an enormously popular genre at this moment. Just think of what AI could bring to the table! Real-time decision making, and AI set fighting patterns based on the weaknesses of the oponent's armor?
I am loving it already!
So wether you are a sports geek or not, it's worth to keep your eyes on it.
