It’s Back-To-School Season! As you can imagine this time of year is filled with excitement for many of our guests. Being able to contribute to the student experience is important to us, and recently our Northshore Workshop in Massachusetts was able to do that with the help of Build-A-Bear Foundation. When the Northshore team learned of a local Title I school’s special education program and how their class would benefit from a bear building experience, they sprang into action. As a leader in fundraising in their district, Northshore contacted Build-A-Bear Foundation, which in turn donated a bear-making experience for the entire program! "It was incredible!" said the store’s Chief Workshop Manager?Bethany Russell. "The kids were nonverbal, but the smiles said it all. The teachers kept emphasizing how special this was, as the program has never been on a fieldtrip in its entire history. All of the nurses and teachers were incredibly grateful and thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of the students." We’re so grateful that we can be part of special experiences like this! To celebrate #internationaldayofplay on June 11, Build-A-Bear Workshop donated 11,000 reading buddy teddy bears to support kids and classrooms in need! We're proud to announce that these furry friends have been delivered to First Book, Build-A-Bear Foundation's core partner in advancing childhood literacy. This donation will equip students, teachers, and families across the United States and Canada with educational resources to fuel their inspiration. ? Build-A-Bear Foundation is on a mission to donate 1 million books and 100,000 reading buddy bears with First Book by 2027.?
