What a week! I had the privilege of attending Transform 2025 in Las Vegas for the first time with Tom Wilson, and it did not disappoint! The amount of incredible HR and People leadership in one place was truly extraordinary. I was reminded of the immense value of connecting in person, finally "meeting" folks I've known for years, forming new friendships and partnerships, and engaging in insightful conversations. The sessions highlighted the real need for companies to refocus on talent and the increasing emphasis on AI and its impact on the future of work. Oh, and there were puppies.???? It was a week filled with inspiration, learning, and meaningful connections. Congratulations to Chris Childers on being named Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and to Lisa Riedle on being named Dean of Crossland College of Technology at Pittsburg State University. This announcement follows a thorough and comprehensive search process led by Pelema Ellis. Chris Childers joined PSU as a lecturer in 2010 and has since risen through the ranks, serving as interim dean of the College of Arts and #Sciences since 2024. He earned his BS and MS degrees from Emporia State University and his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. Childers has authored three books covering different eras in American history, along with numerous peer-reviewed scholarly articles and book chapters. Lisa Riedle, she has been the department head and a professor of Applied #Engineering and Technical #Management at the University of Northern Iowa since 2015. At UNI, she led strategic planning and the design and construction of a new #academic building. Riedle has also established an advisory council and board, added four new programs, created a continuous improvement and assessment process, and grown partnerships with community colleges for articulation agreements. Additionally, she has led the reaccreditation process.
