The Buffer team has officially achieved 10% year over year growth in MRR/ARR for 2024 so far ?? This year is proving to be an incredible turnaround year to get us back to MRR/ARR levels of 3 years ago. I'm excited to see where we can land by the end of the year. And we have big plans for 2025!

Shout to Simon for giving me a reason to put on real pants last week! I wasn't sure how I'd adjust to #remotework after only knowing it as a COVID necessity. I was someone who generally enjoyed going into the office, and living in NYC means my home office is also my kitchen (which is also my living room). Between daily trips to the dog park, impromptu team video chats over coffee, and bi-weekly "people pairs" via Donut, it's been a surprisingly easy transition. Buffer's coffee shop stipend doesn't hurt, either ?? All that said, it was really great to connect with Simon IRL. Nothing beats revealing to your manager just how horrible your laptop posture actually is!

One of the hard things about #remotework is that you don't get to hang out with your coworkers nearly enough. That's why I'm so excited that I was able to get together with our Senior Email Marketing Manager, Maggie Glascott, for some IRL co-working in NYC this week during her onboarding! Always love getting the chance to hang out with other Buffer-oos in person! #remote #remotework

Want to tease something my team has been working on over at Buffer! The attached image isn't a mockup, but a screenshot of a live prototype of RSS feeds directly in Buffer! It's only available internally and still pretty rough at this point, but we'll have it available for user testing soon. With this enhancement, we hope to help Buffer users easily find new and engaging content to share with their audiences. What do you think? Will RSS feeds in Buffer help you create more content?

How does content created with Buffer's AI Assistant compare to content with no AI assistance? We took a look at 1.2 Million posts and here's what we learned: ?? AI-assisted posts consistently show higher median engagement rates across all platforms than non-AI-assisted posts. What does this mean for you and your content? ?? We're not saying you should let AI write all your posts —?rather, that people who use AI tend to have higher engagement. ?? Our hypothesis is that AI assistance empowers creators to produce a higher volume of content more efficiently, significantly increasing their chances of creating posts that connect with their audience. What's your take here? See all of the data at the ?? in ?? #AIContent #SocialMedia

Want to take advantage of the energy around Black Friday without the over-consumption? Here are some ideas: - Highlight small businesses on social to uplift your community and discourage overconsumption. - Donate a percentage of profits to social causes instead of offering discounts. - Skip Black Friday entirely and create your own spin (e.g., Green Friday or Do Good Friday). - Promote conscious consumption while offering discounts—tie your values into your campaign.

"In September, we crossed $19M in ARR at Buffer… for the second time. It's been a journey, to say the least. We first crossed $19M in ARR in September 2018. It's hard to believe that's six years ago. To be declining for multiple years is demoralizing and exhausting. But I always planned to build a long-term business and was determined to lead us back to thriving, so I remained optimistic despite the fact it took some searching to find the path to new growth. The first time we crossed $19M, the writing was on the wall for our looming decline. Pace of product improvement and innovation had stalled; we were debilitated by tech debt we didn't yet know how to manage. We succumbed to squeezing revenue out of existing customers, and were already seeing a steep decline in new paying customers. This time around, we are moving faster and more boldly than we have in years, and we've re-centered ourselves around growing by serving more customers and continually adding real value, rather than through price increases and short-term growth hacks. There's no doubt we will run into challenging cycles again in our future. I'm confident we'll find our way through those too. To me, that's a natural part of building a long-term business. From here – onwards to $20M, again." - Joel Gascoigne, Founder CEO of Buffer in his Q3 2024 Reflections (?? in ??).
