This week we were given the opportunity to showcase reverse engineering skills on the impeller seen below. Using our FARO Quantum S Arm with both blue light scanner attachment, touch probe tip and dimensional hand tooling, our expert tech was able to pull all measurements required for the creation of a 3D model and fabrication drawings. Utilizing our drafting division, we were able to take the numerical reports from this inspection to generate completed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings. Using the combined knowledge of engineering and manufacturing throughout the company, we were able to supply forming, machining and welding callouts/tolerances. This will give our customer a sense of ease with manufacturing the assembly and its individual parts. This week we’re establishing unit centerline on an auxiliary turbine and installing a rewound stator at one of the largest hydro facilities in the country (Chief Joseph, WA).
