BUF is excited to be leading the design for the renovation of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nixa MO existing worship space and the addition of a 4,500 SF classroom building. Earlier this month, Kasha Kapal, Mikayla Garver, and Megan Eli met with the church’s team to review both interior and exterior finishes—a collaborative process that sparked incredible enthusiasm among everyone involved. Recently, Kasha and Megan had the honor of attending the church's groundbreaking ceremony in Nixa, MO, which also celebrated the church’s 20th anniversary with a festival, complete with fun and games. It was an honor being included in such a meaningful milestone for our client. With design work nearing completion, construction is set to begin in early 2025. BUF and RTM Engineering Consultants completed the renovation of 8 exam rooms into 2 large X-ray rooms with a shared control room. In addition, the previous clinical space located on the 4th floor of the Whiteside Medical Building in Springfield, MO has been completely transformed into a Trauma and Sports Medicine Clinic with all new flooring and furnishings. This is Mercy’s only ortho trauma clinic on the main campus in Springfield. Special thanks to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. Building Companies, the General Contractor, for bringing this vision to life. In October, we celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and today, the clinic is already in full swing, actively treating over 150 patients daily. New Hire Spotlight: Josh Lowry- Architectural Designer Originally from South Arkansas, Joshua fostered a passion for architecture in his early teens and continued to develop a love for the profession into high-school and college. While earning a Bachelor of Architecture at The University of Arkansas, Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design, Joshua worked for a general contractor learning valuable hands-on skills like framing, HVAC, and electrical wiring and seeks to leverage those skills in the design process to produce a high-quality, constructable project.
