Prescription medication withdrawal results when the body reacts to the sudden discontinuation or gradual reduction of medications following prolonged usage or abuse. Despite adherence to prescribed directions, numerous medications can result in physical dependence, and sudden discontinuation or tapering may provoke a series of drug withdrawal symptoms. https://lnkd.in/g-U95Wzd

Buena Vista Recovery uniquely answers the question, “What is Relapsing?†To us, relapse is not a failure, but a temporary setback in the recovery process. Addiction and relapse are common – in 2023, an estimated 48 million Americans had reported battling a substance use disorder in the previous year, and up to 85% of those people experienced a return to use.?This blog offers answers to important questions around setbacks, their role in the recovery journey, and strategies for maintaining recovery. With the right support system and coping skills, individuals can get back on track and continue their road to lasting recovery. https://lnkd.in/g-dc7N2c

Overcoming addiction is one of the hardest battles anyone can face. It demands courage, perseverance, and a willingness to embrace change. For many, the journey to recovery includes finding healthy outlets that rebuild the mind, body, and spirit. Some of the hardest moments and some of the most emotional moments of my life have been on the trail. Through the years I have found that when we give every bit of determination and reach the point of having NOTHING left in the tank that is when we find our truest self! For many years I thought I was alone and that nobody could understand the challenges I face. Then one day I found a group of "crazy" people running UP a mountain! My first thought was who on earth would do that, about a week later while running on the road I almost got run over by a distracted driver for the 6th time in 2 months. That is when I thought trail running has to be safer than the city roads. That weekend I researched and found https://lnkd.in/eYfjyiZ6 and the running groups they host for races. What I didn't I know, is that joining this community would change my life. What started as a safer way to run soon became a vital part in learning about my families recovery journey. The trail became a place where I could leave my struggles behind and focus on moving forward—one step, one hill, one mile at a time. The beauty of the running community is how it brings people together, no matter where they are in life. One moment you could be running with a Tech CEO and the next a kid just out of high school. Out on the trail, you meet people who inspire you, who share their stories of resilience, and who remind you that you’re never truly alone. Running isn’t just about endurance—it’s about finding strength within yourself and through the support of others. For me, trail running has become more than a sport; it’s a reminder that even when life feels overwhelming, there’s always another step to take and another summit to reach. The trail taught me that we’re all capable of incredible things when we push beyond our limits and lean on those around us for encouragement. If you’ve ever felt stuck or alone, I encourage you to explore the trails. You might just find the strength you didn’t know you had—and a community that understands your journey. If you’re in recovery or know someone who is, consider exploring the connection between physical endurance and personal growth. Who knows? The trail might just lead to more than the finish line—it could lead to freedom. #AddictionRecovery #UltraRunning #StrengthInRecovery #MindOverMiles Learn more about addiction recovery programs at Buenavistarecovery.com or Call us at 480-680-8138.
