    Update 5: Building Budy – Inside the AI Hype Vortex Continuing the updates I’ve been sharing, here’s my ~6-month update since we started building Budy. I think we can safely say we’re in an AI hype cycle—all hardware is “AI-powered,” ?bottled water is AI-enhanced, and our feeds are crammed with “disruptive” AI tools. While the buzz keeps growing, I strongly agree with a quote I recently read: AI is overhyped in the short run and highly underestimated in the long run! Would love to hear what you think about AI and, more importantly, the practical use cases you’ve found or are using in your business. Quick Updates/Milestones (since Update 4) 1. We built Budy’s MVP 2. We worked with 3 initial customers 3. We did NOT release Budy to a wider audience 4. We raised a Angel/Pre-Seed Round of $4.2 million Refined Vision (gets ‘refined’ every 6 months ??) Budy is an AI agent customizable and trainable via natural language to execute workflows within existing SaaS apps. For example, we trained Budy in a week to add the next best steps for an opportunity in Salesforce, pulling data from Gong, 6Sense, and other sources—to accelerate complex deals. Budy: To be a standard AI agent or Not to be? With Budy, we’re taking the second route of AI Agent that is set up/trained for a business. No matter how good a standard AI agent is, it can’t truly understand business outcomes without learning a company’s intricacies—its challenges, competitors, and market context. That’s why I believe businesses need ?tailored AI agents built for measurable business outcomes. Our approach differs from most AI agent startups in this space. Today, only very large companies are building these custom AI agents for internal processes (Sales, Marketing, Support, Customer Success, etc.). We want to make this accessible, affordable, and easy for companies in the $20–$200 million annual revenue range. Next 6 Months 1. ?????? ?????? ?????? ?????? ????????: While our long-term goal is for others to train, manage, and run their own versions of Budy, we’ll first use the platform ourselves to deliver live projects. 2. ???? ???????? ????????????: As many of you who’ve worked with me know, I strongly believe in solving problems people are willing to pay for. 3. ???????? ?? ????????????????: We’ll research and focus on one industry (Fintech, BioTech, Nursing Homes, Dentistry Services, etc.) to solve deeper, cross-functional problems that make a meaningful business impact.     Update 4: Introducing Budy - My Next Venture Continuing with the updates I've been sharing, I am beyond thrilled to unveil the name of my next company as promised: Budy! Over the past few months, my exploration into the world of AI, especially Generative AI, has been enlightening. I've especially focused on distinguishing hype from reality, and understanding what's currently achievable versus future aspirations. While my excitement—because of the immense potential of Gen-AI to revolutionize industries—is high, the challenge of creating genuine value remains as significant as ever. My curiosity was particularly piqued by the complexity enterprises face when deploying software solutions, from ERPs or WMS to Salesforce or HubSpot. Despite the core brilliance in some of these products/platforms, these solutions are always daunting to implement for organizations with pre-existing processes or systems and hence companies rarely realize their full expected outcomes. I wholeheartedly believe that SaaS has revolutionized productivity and brought immense benefits to society. Yet, despite these advancements, the current highly manual state of the $300+ billion software deployment and implementation industry is lagging. It's time for a change, as this outdated approach restricts the full potential of SaaS from being realized. Clearly, we're looking at a massive industry! Those who have collaborated with me on new ventures or ideas are familiar with my approach: Dream big but aim small: i.e., start with focused, achievable goals. The key initial step is to develop and refine a solution that genuinely adds value to a user —a value that becomes tangible when customers are willing to pay for it. Enter Budy: An AI co-pilot designed to simplify the Deployment and Management of Sales & Marketing software stacks, such as Salesforce, Marketo, etc. While I have more questions than answers at this stage, the roadmap for the next six months is quite clear: 1. Build & Launch Budy's MVP to 10-15 initial customers focused around one software application. 2. Iterate based on real customer feedback, i.e., further train Budy's capabilities. 3. Release Budy Beta to a wider customer base. 4. Either start scaling to the first $1 million in ARR or go back to the drawing board ??.
