Update 5: Building Budy – Inside the AI Hype Vortex Continuing the updates I’ve been sharing, here’s my ~6-month update since we started building Budy. I think we can safely say we’re in an AI hype cycle—all hardware is “AI-powered,” ?bottled water is AI-enhanced, and our feeds are crammed with “disruptive” AI tools. While the buzz keeps growing, I strongly agree with a quote I recently read: AI is overhyped in the short run and highly underestimated in the long run! Would love to hear what you think about AI and, more importantly, the practical use cases you’ve found or are using in your business. Quick Updates/Milestones (since Update 4) 1. We built Budy’s MVP 2. We worked with 3 initial customers 3. We did NOT release Budy to a wider audience 4. We raised a Angel/Pre-Seed Round of $4.2 million Refined Vision (gets ‘refined’ every 6 months ??) Budy is an AI agent customizable and trainable via natural language to execute workflows within existing SaaS apps. For example, we trained Budy in a week to add the next best steps for an opportunity in Salesforce, pulling data from Gong, 6Sense, and other sources—to accelerate complex deals. Budy: To be a standard AI agent or Not to be? With Budy, we’re taking the second route of AI Agent that is set up/trained for a business. No matter how good a standard AI agent is, it can’t truly understand business outcomes without learning a company’s intricacies—its challenges, competitors, and market context. That’s why I believe businesses need ?tailored AI agents built for measurable business outcomes. Our approach differs from most AI agent startups in this space. Today, only very large companies are building these custom AI agents for internal processes (Sales, Marketing, Support, Customer Success, etc.). We want to make this accessible, affordable, and easy for companies in the $20–$200 million annual revenue range. Next 6 Months 1. ?????? ?????? ?????? ?????? ????????: While our long-term goal is for others to train, manage, and run their own versions of Budy, we’ll first use the platform ourselves to deliver live projects. 2. ???? ???????? ????????????: As many of you who’ve worked with me know, I strongly believe in solving problems people are willing to pay for. 3. ???????? ?? ????????????????: We’ll research and focus on one industry (Fintech, BioTech, Nursing Homes, Dentistry Services, etc.) to solve deeper, cross-functional problems that make a meaningful business impact.
