Excited AF to make this announcement! This year Fat Nugs Magazine has been lucky enough to work off and on with Jocelyn Sheltraw and Claudio Miranda. Going all the way back to their official launch of Budist at Sunstone Winery and then again at the California State Fair Cannabis Awards. I've personally enjoyed watching them build a community around connoisseurship and think what they're doing will only continue to grow as cannabis consumption becomes more and more mainstream. That's why it's an honor to have our very own Terpene Whisper, Daniel Crawford join them, Fruit + Flower Co. and Culture Cannabis Club later this week in West Hollywood at PleasureMed for Friendsgiving! Under the guidance of our Budist cannabis sommeliers, you’ll embark on a sensory journey featuring curated pairings of craft cannabis, seasonal elixirs, and elevated cuisine. The evening will begin with a happy hour at Hind Bar featuring small batch wines from Sonoma’s Enriquez Winery, non-alcohol beverages from Three Spirit, and terpene-infused sparkling elixirs from Terpene Belt Farms. I've attended hundreds of cannabis events over my six years in the industry. Just in the past six months alone, I’ve attended at least 50 and, through Budist, we've hosted or partnered on 25 events. Each event brings together a unique audience and fosters community in different ways, and Benzinga Cannabis stands out as my favorite for the cannabis business community. Yesterday’s event—the second Market Spotlight—gathered over 200 executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders in California’s cannabis space. A major theme across panels and in my conversations was the value of collaboration, especially during this turbulent period for the industry. As a startup founder who raised modest capital for a company with a big vision, I can confirm that collaboration has been essential to our success—it’s how we’ve managed to execute 25 events in just six months, amid all the other things we’re doing. We're gearing up for our Friendsgiving next week, and at yesterday’s event, we secured five new partners who will add value to the experience. People often ask how we’re doing so much with limited resources, and collaboration has been part of our secret sauce. I share this because being an active part of the community is critical to growth and I’m grateful to collaborate with almost every single person pictured in these photos. I’m always happy to connect with other founders who share in Budists mission to build a culture of connoisseurship. The biggest thank you to Elliot Lane, Patrick Lane, Emily Lehmann, Javier Hasse, and the entire team at Benzinga for creating the space.
