Recently, we collaborated with Abel Tan to help bring our "buddies" to life through product animation—and he did it effortlessly! Although my focus has shifted towards bringing our products from MVP to market, along with the marketing and business side of things, it's essential to remember that Buddy’s heart lies in industrial design. Buddy started from familiar design principles like iteration, product visualization, and engineering. Whether you're working on a design project or exploring new fields, reflecting on your foundational skills can serve as a powerful reminder of why you're doing what you’re doing, how you got here, and what your future goals look like. ?? Exciting Updates! ?? It's been a while since my last LinkedIn update, but I’ve been busy behind the scenes, planning the perfect way to introduce our "buddies" to the world! It's been a rigorous journey filled with learning and growth, and I want to thank everyone for being so patient with me on this brand-building adventure. I’m thrilled to share that we have some exciting news coming very soon! ?? Last month, I had the opportunity to visit our partner product development facility in China. Here’s a quick recap of the trip: Exploring Future Possibilities ?? I took a deep dive into their product portfolio to better understand their manufacturing capabilities. This experience inspired new ideas for future Buddy products! Quality Assurance Check ?? I toured the manufacturing line to ensure a strong quality assurance process is in place at every stage. This ensures that our "buddies" will be high-quality and eco-friendly, reducing potential waste. Material Selection ?? We explored different CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) options and swatches for the final lamp design, ensuring our buddies will look and feel just right. Pilot Testing Preparations ?? We discussed the pilot testing process that occurs after mold creation and before mass production. This step is crucial for ensuring that our "buddies" meet all safety standards and are built to last. Finalizing Our Production Timeline ?? Lastly, we finalized the production timeline, making sure our pre-order plan is realistic and achievable. This also sets the stage for a smooth pre-order experience and exciting marketing content! Hi everyone! I'm super excited to announce that, after months of learning, researching, and trial and error, I am finally launching my first startup project: Buddy Design ?? As a recent graduate and a first-time solo founder, the journey started with coming up with the product idea back in my senior year at Parsons School of Design - The New School, to looking for a job after graduation, researching the possibility of a hardware startup company, and all the obstacles and learning curves that come with it.
