Today, we wrap up Joe's story. Enjoy! At the end of the day, our mission at Document Pros has always been the same: to provide law firms and businesses with a reliable, high-quality service they can depend on. When people ask me “what does it take to start your own business?” they oftentimes follow it up with, “How do you ensure you are successful?” I give a simple answer: Do what you say, finish what you start, say please and thank you, and be on time. In business, you’ll face ups and downs, obstacles and setbacks, but the foundation you build is key. Build a strong foundation, and you’ll be able to weather the storms and reach new heights. That’s been the core of our journey, staying committed to our values, working hard, and providing a service that people can rely on. Whether it’s meeting deadlines, providing excellent customer service, or delivering quality work, our goal has always been to be the kind of company that businesses trust and rely on, year after year. We hope you enjoyed learning about Joe's professional journey and how Document Pros came to be. We couldn't be where we are today without the support from our valued customers. Thank you to you all! #DocumentPros

Since our founding in 1991, Document Pros has continuously developed to meet the growing demands of the digital age. This week Joe breaks the evolution down. In the beginning, we focused exclusively on copying services. By 1999, we introduced scanning to our workflow, and by 2004, we were evenly split between copying and scanning. By 2015, scanning made up 75% of our work, with copying accounting for the remaining 25%. In 2020, the shift was even more dramatic, with scanning reaching 90% of our work, and 5% dedicated to both electronic discovery and copying. In 2025, our services are 25% scanning and 75% electronic discovery and digital printing. ? Today, Document Pros offers a wide range of services, including Electronic Discovery, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals filing, Backfile Scanning, and various Corporate Services. For Electronic Discovery, we convert native file types into TIFF format and then into the customer’s desired format, or we can print, collate, and assemble them into trial binders. Our 11th Circuit Court of Appeals service includes printing briefs, appendices, binding, and delivering them to the court. In Backfile Scanning, we scan large volumes of physical documents into digital PDF files. Our Corporate Services include wide-format scanning and printing, high-quality color copies, sales presentations, binding, presentation boards, shredding, and courtroom exhibits. Tune in next week as we will wrap up our story!!

Our story continues this week with Joe sharing how Document Pros partners with the Atlanta community. At Document Pros, our mission has always been more than just providing a service. We want to make a positive impact. That’s why we decided to hire employees from MARR (Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences), an addiction treatment center. We step in during phase 3 of their program when individuals are ready to re-enter the workforce. We’ve made it a point to give them the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Since 2005, we’ve hired between 20-30 individuals from MARR, giving them a second chance to turn their lives around and get back on their feet. After all, everyone deserves a second chance. Next week Joe will dive into the evolution of services at Document Pros! #DocumentPros

I’ve always considered myself a determined person. When I set my mind to something, I see it through. I truly believe this mindset comes from my dad, who founded his own company 33 years ago. His journey has been a constant source of inspiration, showing me firsthand how determination, hard work, and perseverance can drive success, not just in business, but in life. His example continues to guide me as I navigate my own professional journey.
This week we continue the story to learn about the start of Document Pros! In 1992, once the non-compete clause expired, I moved back to Atlanta to open our second office there, and eventually, we expanded our operations to three other cities in the Southeast - Mobile in 1993, Louisville in 1994, and Orlando in 1995. By then we had 105 employees and were generating over $4 million in revenue. In 1997, we made the decision to sell ALCS to Lanier 3M and signed a four-year non-compete agreement for Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida. This led us to Knoxville Tennessee, where Eric and I opened Knoxville Document Pros in 1998. In 2004, after my 4-year non-compete expired, my brother, Bob,?and I opened Buckhead Document Pros in Atlanta and we’ve been here ever since. Bob learned the printing side of the business and we enlarged our services to include offset printing - business cards, letterhead, envelopes and more. The path to entrepreneurship isn’t easy, and it’s certainly not glamorous. I often get asked, “What does it take to own a business?” My answer is always some variation of guts, determination, work ethic, and $50K each. Starting a business is hard and there are obstacles around every corner, but if you have the guts to take that first leap, the determination to push through tough times, the work ethic to grind day and night, and of course, the financial resources to make it all happen, the rest is about passion, perseverance, and drive. The seven offices I have helped open have operated the same way. We own all our equipment (no monthly lease payments) and pay all our bills each month, starting the next month with no debt. Next week we will touch on one way Document Pros pays it forward in the Atlanta community. #DocumentPros #Entrpreneuership

Happy Wednesday from Document Pros! The story continues... My professional journey began in 1988, when I moved from Texas to Atlanta and answered a newspaper ad for a sales position at KnightRider Overnight Copy Service. This is where I first learned the ropes of the business, training on The Sales Model to open law firm accounts. I was fortunate to work with two colleagues, Eric and DJ, who shared my dream of starting our own business. Together, we each saved $50,000 to fund our venture. In 1990, I met Mary while floating down the Chattahoochee River, a memorable start to our love story. Mary and I were married in May 1991 and, shortly thereafter, Eric, DJ, and I opened American Legal Copy Service (ALCS) in Birmingham, Alabama. The early days were a true test of grit and perseverance. We made sales calls to law firms all day and worked through the night, taking our ties off and making copies until the job was done. For 45 days, it was just the three of us until the checks from our law firm clients started coming in. That’s when we hired our first employee. Tune in next week to hear how the initial grind of starting a company escalated into the business we have today, Document Pros! #DocumentPros

For the next couple weeks, we are going to share the story of one of our owners, Joe Albright. Each week we will continue the story and share more about Joe's journey that led to where he is today. Enjoy! Sharing my story is something I take great joy in, not because it’s glamorous or follows a straight path, but because it’s a story built on overcoming challenges and achieving things I’m proud of. The obstacles I’ve faced are what made my journey meaningful, and they’ve shaped the person I am today. First and foremost, I’m proud of my family. My wife, Mary, and I have been married for 33 years, and we have three incredible children. Our oldest, Joe, works in Cybersecurity Consulting at EY. Then there are the twins, Bridget and Becca. Bridget is a Pediatric Nurse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Becca works as a Client Growth Executive for Velera, a financial technology and payments company. Our family is tight-knit, and though we love to travel, there’s no place we enjoy more than the beach, where we can unwind and recharge together. We will continue the story next week! #DocumentPros
