Project Completion: Service Station Demolition & 13 USTs Removal, Raleigh, NC The Southeast Division of Buckeye Elm successfully completed the demolition of a former service station and the removal of 13 underground storage tanks (USTs), ranging from 650 to 15,000 gallons and containing oil, lubricants, used oil, antifreeze, diesel, gasoline, and gas mix. The project also included asbestos abatement, ensuring the safe removal and compliant disposal of hazardous materials prior to demolition. Another Superfund remediation project in progress! Buckeye Elm is supporting our client in Phase II remediation of the Jackson Ceramix Superfund Site in Falls Creek, PA. This Task Order, awarded under the RAF RES multiple award contract, focuses on the Northern Drainage Channel (NDC) and Former Lagoon (FL) to address lead- and zinc-contaminated soils from historical china production. Our scope includes: In-Situ Soil Stabilization – Treating lead- and zinc-contaminated soils in wetland areas using biochar and compost. Dewatering & Treatment – Operating a multi-stage dewatering system capable of pumping, treating, and discharging 250 gallons per minute, in compliance with PaDEP and NPDES standards. Excavation & Disposal – Conducting low-impact excavation in drainage channels and transporting non-hazardous impacted soil to a Subtitle D landfill. #EnvironmentalRemediation #Superfund #Dewatering #SoilStabilization #Sustainability #RegulatoryCompliance

Project Update: Little Scioto River Superfund Site Remediation Buckeye Elm is supporting an environmental consultant on a Task Order under the RAF RES multiple award contract for Phase I remediation at the Little Scioto River Superfund Site in Marion County, Ohio. This project involves the removal and remediation of PAH-contaminated sediment from historical operations at the former Baker Woods Creosoting facility. Buckeye Elm (Bruce Markey, Brandon Markey, and Natalia Besswanger) is currently attending the 12th International Conference on the Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments, and it’s been a fantastic experience so far! The sessions have been incredibly informative, offering valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies in sediment remediation. It’s also been a great opportunity for networking, as we’ve connected with experts, industry leaders, and potential collaborators. We’re looking forward to more sessions and discussions as the conference continues!

During the holiday period at Buckeye-Elm we take this seriously encouraging time off for our workforce. At the request of our crews for training during this time, we were able to achieve 100% participation due to projects being on hold for the holiday. Part of family is being present and being healthy to care for your loved ones whilst on the job site. Though we took the 1-2 days away from our crews for that week, it wasn’t something that was forceful, our teams asked for this, they encouraged each other to get it done during what other companies consider a downtime. That’s how dedicated our employees and our company is to ensuring safety and quality where it counts. Because of this, we were successfully able to obtain full completion of ALL our required annual training and thus can continue our excelerating success through 2025!
