BCR is excited to begin work on the iconic Three Rivers Water Filtration Plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Built in 1933, the plant is renowned for its beautiful Collegiate Gothic architecture, featuring Indiana limestone, carved panels, and classic Gothic details that have made it a landmark. This restoration effort will focus on the restoration of the main entrance tower, including masonry repairs (limestone and brick), concrete repairs, flashing repairs, roof replacement, and replacement of all associated sealants. A great case study by Bob Brown in Masonry Magazine on the restoration of the Virginia Law Library. The building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was constructed in 1834 as the law library for the Virginia Supreme Court. It later played a role in the Civil War during the Battle of Dry Creek and served as a hospital. We are proud to be preserving such an incredible piece of American history! BCR continues its work on the stabilization and restoration of the Cumberland County Courthouse in Crossville, Tennessee. One of the most challenging aspects of the project is repairing the deteriorated roof trusses. Water damage had severely compromised large portions of the trusses. After installing extensive shoring to support the entire roof structure, our team has been meticulously replacing and repairing the damaged sections. Each repair is a custom installation, made in collaboration with the engineer, to accommodate the years of warping, twisting, and settling of the trusses. Our talented team of craftsmen is proud to preserve this nearly 120-year-old structure for future generations!
