As the term “Adequate Wage” emerges across several EU legislations and the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) first ever guidance on Living Wage, explore how it compares to existing wage regulations and how companies can prepare for upcoming CSRD requirements. There has been widespread confusion on how Adequate Wage compares to Living Wage and Minimum Wage. Understanding the Adequate Wage for a country or region is dependent on each location’s context, and for companies to close any pay gaps to meet regulations like the CSRD, they will need to conduct a gap analysis for Minimum Wage, Adequate Wages and Living Wages. BSR is launching a new initiative bringing together major software companies looking to reduce GHG emissions by improving the accounting for and measuring Scope 3 Category 11, also known as emissions from the “use of sold products”. We are looking for companies who currently face challenges in gathering useful data from cloud and hyperscaler service providers. The objective of the initiative is not just to talk about practice, but to act on improving the above situation. To group intends to drive understanding and develop outputs that help companies to: ? Appropriately account for emissions (sample outputs: value chain mapping; practical guidance on determining cat 1 vs. cat 11); ? Calculate these emissions (sample outputs: cat 11 emissions calculation methodology, agreed upon scope of applicability); ? Engage with the cloud and service providers on data sharing (sample outputs: buyer-supplier data sharing protocol; standardized reporting template); ? Drive adoption by standard-setters (sample outputs: direct engagement with major frameworks). This initiative is open to BSR member and non-member companies.
