An interesting article.
Our mission is to help bridge the gap for our neighbors in need. We achieve this by offering immediate assistance to address food insecurity through our weekly food pantry, and assist neighbors in need with household essentials and emergency clothing. We help elevate their current circumstances and support their long-term goals through education, job-skill development, and other services. We understand the value of collective impact and we strategically partner with other organizations to help drive improved outcomes. We provide opportunities for neighbors to support their fellow neighbors in meaningful ways in order to co-create a stronger, more loving, and inclusive community.

We are THRILLED to announce that we have been voted the winner of the 2024 Dayton Nonprofit of the Year Award in the category: Life Skills Education category by The Dayton Magazine. This prestigious recognition is an honor, and we are deeply grateful for the support of our community and partners who have contributed to our Computer Basics classes, job-skills workshops, and our financial wellness class. This is the second consecutive year BSCSC has been recognized by The Dayton Magazine as a Nonprofit of the Year. In 2023, we were recognized in the category: Best Food Pantry. As we move forward, we will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do to support our neighbors in need.

#beyondfood Recognizing the realities emphasized in Anina Estrem, MPP ‘s excellent blog, Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Support Center’s Choice Pantry was an early adopter of the beyond food model. We are a tiny organization. If we can do it, others can and should. In addition to selecting their groceries online, our pantry visitors choose essential personal care and household items including: toilet paper, diapers in all sizes, wipes, feminine hygiene products, adult incontenance products, laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, tooth paste and tooth brushes, and even pet food. Every person deserves the dignity of these basic personal care items as well as their choice of nutritious food items.

Here's what we were able to accomplish together with community support: -More than 225 students received free school supplies. - 5,166 school supplies were given away! - 6 trucks participated in the touch-a-truck - 27 students received free haircuts - 24 students received door prizes #backtoschool #familiesinneed #communitysupport #bettertogether

Setting distribution records at our Choice Pantry is nothing to celebrate. Only twelve months ago we helped 45 families at our weekly distribution. Tomorrow, we will provide groceries for 72 families. This is equally sad and disconcerting. https://lnkd.in/e5Hz9HXK
Wright-Patt Credit Union (Centerville, Cornerstone location) receives an A+ for their outstanding #communitysupport and #communityengagement! They not only provided a generous $1,500 grant to BSCSC for school supplies for children in need AND did all the shopping, but their dedicated employees also volunteered to package hundreds of kits on their day off! #GivingBack
Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Support Center is absolutely THRILLED to share the graduation of six adult learners who have completed our free 25-hour Computer Basics Source! Two students are committed to continuing their computer skills education by enrolling Sinclair Community College this fall. In recognition of their achievement and to support their journey forward, BSCSC awarded each graduate a commercial-grade laptop computer, thanks to the generous donations by FTI - Frontier Technology Inc ! Helping our neighbors achieve their long-term goals is an integral part of our mission and one way we do it is through educational programs and job-skill development. We are indebted and deeply grateful for those who made this class possible, including Sinclair Community College faculty, Denise Moore, MS and Barbara Tollinger, MS, for donating their time and talent to the CSC for this purpose, Dave Cope for helping procure students’ laptops, and FTI for their ongoing generous support! #bridgingthegap #morethanfood #jobskilldevelopment #WFD #educationmatters
