Bruin Highlights from #ABCT2024! Our Chief Clinical Officer, Caitlin Stamatis, PhD, represented Bruin Health at the 2024 Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies conference, diving deep into the intersection of technology, engagement, and mental health care. Dr. Stamatis served as the discussant for a thought-provoking symposium on engagement with digital mental health tools. She emphasized the importance of examining different dimensions of engagement to truly understand how to sustain user interaction with digital services. Drawing on cutting-edge research presented by Valerie Hoffman, Hilary Weingarden, Leah Tanner, MSPH, and Dr. Page Anderson, Dr. Stamatis shared insights on how to optimize coaching—automating some dimensions with technology like LLMs while preserving the human touch where it matters most. She also shared Bruin's original research at the Technology and Behavior SIG with a poster highlighting our latest advancements in applying dimensional models of psychopathology to technology-enabled mental health evaluation and treatment in primary care. Finally, Dr. Stamatis presented empirical data alongside Dr. Nicholas Jacobson, Christian A. Webb, Ph.D., Paola Pedrelli, Hilary Weingarden, and discussant David Mohr. Dr. Mohr underscored the importance of thinking about sustainable implementation—how we actually get these innovative research findings into the hands of patients needing mental health treatment.
