Project Highlight: Proton Therapy Center, The University of Kansas Cancer Center After more than 15 years of building proton therapy centers around our home turf, Linbeck packed a bag and headed for Kansas. Our mission? Bring a much-needed cancer treatment facility to patients in the Midwest. In 2022, the Proton Therapy Center at The University of Kansas Cancer Center debuted to an excited crowd, as no facility of this nature had existed in this part of the country before. Today, KU's 50,000 SF Proton Therapy Center boasts a single IBA Proteus One vault and has achieved comprehensive cancer center status, a prestigious honor that only 56 other cancer care centers hold nationwide.
