We are thrilled to launch our second annual Intercollegiate Business Conference this Saturday, November 2, from 9:30 am-3 pm! This year's conference brings together female-identifying undergraduate students from Brown University and beyond for a day of networking, learning, and inspiration and will take place at the Salomon Center, DECI at Brown University. The conference features keynote speaker Kristen Kelly from The Wall Street Skinny. In addition, an IB/Consulting panel will be led by Sarah Pickard from McKinsey & Company, and Logan Shanney from the Jefferies Group, as well as a Media Panel headed by Betsy Morgan and Marian Salzman. A seated luncheon will be available to a select number of attendees and provide the opportunity to connect with peers and professionals in an exclusive setting. WIB’s off-campus office visits to top recruiting firms allow our members to more authentically get to know the people, company culture, and different career paths available to them. This Spring, the Off-Campus Education Business Committee, led by Maggie Seidel, successfully planned and implemented five trips. As we do each year, we organized a Consulting Trip to Boston and visited the offices of McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company and Deloitte. In April we organized a visit to the Wayfair HQ in Boston in collaboration with Brown Women in CS to expand the industry exposure we provide to members. Lastly, we wrapped up the semester with an event at J.Crew, where members had the opportunity to learn about creating a professional wardrobe and were able to enjoy special discounts. ?????? ????????????????????: ???????????? 2024 ?????????????????? ??????????????????????: 1. ?????????????? ?????????? ????????????: ?????? ?? ?????????? ?????????????????? ??????????????: The Youth Mentoring Program aims to connect young refugees with WIB mentors who can offer guidance on different topics, including college, careers, financial literacy, and future goals.? 2. ???????? ??????????: Working closely with Farm Fresh, WIB is assisting in creating social media content for their year-round farmers market and business tenants. Alongside this, WIB is working with the organization to create a financial literacy curriculum for their trainees. 3. ?????????? ?????????????????? ????????????: WIB supports the food share distribution program, by packing food, separating and bagging produce, and loading food boxes into families' trucks.? 4. ???????????? ?????????????????????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????? ????????????: WIB volunteers are working together to set up a Clothing Collaborative facility for refugees in RI. Community involvement has been an important aspect of WIB's mission. As we continue to invest our efforts in these impactful initiatives, we are proud to foster an environment where community service and professional development intersect.
