Our mission is to improve the understanding and treatment of mental illness by providing the highest values of excellence in research, education, clinical care, community service, and patient advocacy. FACULTY The academic home for the field's leading psychiatrists and psychologists, our 500-plus faculty members provide exemplary care in patient settings and catalyze scientific discovery in the field of mental health. RESEARCH With more than $60 million in external research funding annually, our department hosts the nation's brightest faculty and trainees dedicated to exploring unanswered questions and generating new knowledge on the causes, mechanisms, and novel treatments for mental health conditions. With three sprawling research centers and four core facilities led by members of our faculty, the department is positioned to transform the field of mental health, from scientific discovery to patient outcomes. TRAINING Boasting two psychiatry residencies, five psychiatry fellowships, four psychology internship tracks, and four clinical psychology postdoctoral divisions, our department trains the next leaders in mental health care and research with an emphasis on collegiality and collaboration.
