At Brothers Keeper Veteran Foundation, we recognize that the bond of service knows no gender—our sister veterans are an integral part of the brotherhood. Yet, according to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) women Veterans are almost twice as likely to attempt suicide than their male counterparts. This is why we stand together, ensuring every Veteran feels seen, supported, and valued. No one fights alone, and no one is left behind. If you or a fellow veteran needs help, we’re here. You belong. You matter. #VeteransSupportingVeterans #StrongerTogether #YouAreNotAlone
关于我们
Stigmas, fear of repercussions, lack of resources, and a belief that they can handle it on their own are just some of the reasons over 125,000 veterans have committed suicide since 2001. We're on a mission to change that. Our Mission: To raise awareness of and destigmatize military-based mental health issues by connecting those in need to personalized treatments without any barriers of entry, as long as needed. Our Vision: To preserve the lives of U.S. active duty military and veterans by optimizing their recovery journey and providing them the highest quality of life possible. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have bravely served our country.

Damn… I don’t know how this post got so little traffic, but I aim to do my part and bring attention to it and the organization it highlights. I just met Mike Byers for the second time at the 2nd annual “Cultivating Courage” - Brothers Keeper Veteran Foundation fundraiser in Nashville TN. As a result of last year‘s get together, Operation Song, Mike and his team, supported a friend of mine from work here in North Idaho. My friend served with honor in the 10th Mountain Division in Iraq, and was badly wounded in an IED blast. While recovering Stateside from his injuries, his family had a very bad auto accident and one of their young children was killed. He was hurting badly on the anniversary of her death, and Operation Song helped my friend write and tell his family’s story of service and sacrifice, in song…. I could not be more grateful to Mike and his team for the healing I saw in my friend! Here is Mike telling and singing part of his own story… the passing of the cup and the torch to his own son. Executive Director of Operation Song, Mike Byer, sings "Over the Wire." This song was written for Mike when he first participated in Operation Song, a nonprofit dedicated to taking the story of veterans and turning it into a fully formed song. Mike's song is about his retirement and the passing of the torch of military service down to his son who would follow in his footsteps. Check out this amazing nonprofit at https://lnkd.in/esVVkWQ This video was taken at the Grunt Style Foundation Deployment - Fort Campbell in March of 2023. #operationsong #military #veterans #gruntstyle #gruntstylefoundation https://lnkd.in/ga7uuQvr

This was an amazing 3 days working with Dr. Veera Gupta her husband Dr. John Volpe, all the yoga instructor’s, Annie with Oxygen Advantage and Jennifer Baker LPC RPT ACS for providing trama counseling education to Team RangeOars Row and George Catuogno (the crusher ??) for getting us in shape mentally and physically and spiritually. I met numerous people that impacted my life in one way or another and demonstrated thru there art how to cope and deal with problems, stressers when they arise. It was a world wind 3 days and I know I left out some names but thank you too for all that you did. Geneva, thank you for letting the team use your beautiful home while we were in town and taking care of us with food and drinks. Please see below: Mike
I had such an incredible time this past weekend working with the RangeOarsRow team. Their mission is to raise $1 million as they take on the challenge of a lifetime: rowing from California to Hawaii to bring awareness to veteran suicide. A huge thank you to Dr. Veera Gupta for inviting me to speak and train these incredible men as they prepare for the World's Toughest Row . It was an honor to be a small part of their journey, helping them build strength, resilience, and injury prevention strategies to carry them through the months ahead. Dr. Veera also introduced us to Dr. Patrick Porter Brain Tap, an amazing brain-specific training system that supports so many individuals, including those recovering from traumatic brain injuries. Throughout the weekend, I worked with the team on injury prevention and sport-specific training, focusing on shoulder mobility, endurance, and movement strategies to keep them strong and healthy leading up to race day. If you haven’t already, check out the World’s Toughest Row and consider donating to their cause—let’s support these incredible men as they row for a purpose that’s bigger than themselves! It’s reported that 22 Veterans die by suicide each day. Many estimate the true number to be as high as 44. During the 20 year Global War on Terror, approximately 7,000 service members were killed in combat. In that same time frame, over 120,000 service members have died by suicide. We continue to lose over 8,000 Veterans every year. ABOUT THE FILM Veteran mental health and suicide prevention are critical issues affecting countless lives, yet they often remain hidden beneath the surface. The Failure to Fire film brings these challenges into sharp focus through the intimate story of one Veteran’s internal battle. In a pivotal moment of crisis, a middle-aged Veteran reflects on his life, with vivid flashbacks exposing the stark contrast between his lighthearted exterior and the internal chaos that has him on the edge of taking his own life. His struggle is a powerful reminder of the daily invisible battles many Veterans face. Your support fuels our mission to amplify this crucial message, foster understanding, and provide essential resources for Veterans in need. OUR GOAL We believe in the power of storytelling to inspire change. By supporting our film, you’re joining us in our mission to bring attention to Veteran mental health issues. Together, we can empower others to be proactive in helping those who may be struggling. This morning I had the opportunity to get out and ruck the beautiful hills of Tennessee with friends in support of Brothers Keeper Veteran Foundation . As a veteran, this mission is close to my heart. Too many soldiers and veterans face battles they shouldn’t fight alone. I am rucking to honor them, raise awareness, and fund life changing research.
