Ending Veteran Suicide.

关于我们

Stigmas, fear of repercussions, lack of resources, and a belief that they can handle it on their own are just some of the reasons over 125,000 veterans have committed suicide since 2001. We're on a mission to change that. Our Mission: To raise awareness of and destigmatize military-based mental health issues by connecting those in need to personalized treatments without any barriers of entry, as long as needed. Our Vision: To preserve the lives of U.S. active duty military and veterans by optimizing their recovery journey and providing them the highest quality of life possible. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have bravely served our country.

Writing the Wrongs is finally launched! Since I was old enough to hold a book, I've been fascinated by the world of words and how they come together to create other worlds for people to learn, imagine, connect, and heal. The last one (heal) I've been especially focused on for some many years. This book is the result of that effort--and turns out it's launch is especially poignant given the state of our own "right-and-wrong-conflicted" world these days. Hope you'll check it out. #moralinjury #moraldistress #moralresilience #healingwriting #trauma #moraltrauma #resilience #traumahealing https://lnkd.in/gifVX5YD

We’ve come a long way to be where we are today, and hopefully sometime soon - we will all share the stage together. Three men who have overcome our own adversity - we are paving a path that we didn’t have when we needed it the most. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. The military spends millions of dollars and years turning us into weapons of war—teaching us to switch into combat mode in an instant. But when it comes to turning that off? Relatively very little time, money, or thought is given to that transition. And that’s where many veterans run into trouble. We’re trained to be aggressive, to act decisively, and to face threats head-on. We are ready for war but struggle with peace! And once we leave the service, society expects us to shut that mindset off as if it’s as easy as flipping a switch. The reality is, without the proper support, it’s not. This gap often leads to trouble—personal, professional, or even legal—for those of us who struggle with the transition. We need to invest in helping veterans turn off the fight, just as much as we invest in training them to turn it on. The cost of ignoring this is too high. #Leadership #Veterans
