In 2014, Ezra didn’t just support Rafi—he saved him while they were both injured on the battlefield in Lebanon. Their bond, forged in the crucible of war, stands as a testament to courage and brotherhood. On this Universal Children’s Day, we celebrate the unbreakable connection between parents and their children. 25 injured combat soldiers embarked on a three-day hike across Israel with their sons and daughters. Together, they explored what it means to grow, come of age, and forge even deeper bonds as a family. Meet Niv Barandes: Bravery Beyond Boundaries. A 22-year-old Lieutenant from the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion, is a living symbol of courage and determination. On October 7, during the brutal Hamas attack on Kibbutz Nir Am, Niv fought for three hours despite being shot in both hands. For five weeks, Niv underwent 12 surgeries, including one performed by a fellow Golani veteran. His injuries, including a shattered arm, have tested him in unimaginable ways, but they haven’t broken his spirit. Niv is now focused on recovery, determined to one day return to the battlefield and stand once again with his brothers. In his own words: “It’s not easy, but we have to keep moving forward. It will always be with me.” Niv’s story reminds us of the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment of our soldiers. We are proud to stand beside him as he rebuilds and inspires us all. Meet Ido Belkin, one of the brave IDF veterans who found healing, resilience, and a brotherhood like no other with Brothers for Life. His journey exemplifies the strength that grows from unity. A Hero Under Fire At just 21, one week away from completing his service with the Golani Brigade 51st Battalion, Ido was called to duty from his leave. Rushing to the Zikkim base, he faced an ambush and was wounded in the arm amidst intense combat.
