Join on Saturday, April 5, from 3 PM-5PM for “How To Actually Write Your Artist Statement” with Frank Chang! Frank is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator who explores unexpected linkages between the past and imagined futures shaped by the climate crisis. This workshop is a part of BCAC's Business of Art Professional Development Program: Art Marketing & Management. Broome County Arts Council Members receive five (5) FREE Business of Art workshop registrations. After five workshops have been claimed, Members get a discounted rate ($15!) for additional classes. Not a member yet and want to try out a class? Non-members are welcomed to attend for a rate of $25 per workshop. Business of Art (BOA) Professional Development Workshops are open and available to artists, performers, creatives, students, and arts professionals at any stage in their career. The UCF campaign this year would not be successful without you. The Miller S. & Adelaide S. Gaffney Foundation's main focus is to fund general, scholarship, and various student programs such as the Toys for Tots program, Survive to 5 and Ebola Children's Relief Fund, special programming, and scholarships for residencies. The foundation has given grants to United Health Services Foundation and other organizations.

The Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) announces that a total of $307,113 has been raised for the 2025 United Cultural Fund (UCF), providing both General Operating Support and $1,000 Project Grants to benefit the local arts community. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this year’s total represents a 12% increase in funds raised. A special thank you goes to a generous patron whose contributions enabled a dollar-for-dollar match on $21,600 in new donations. UCF General Operations awards support the general operating needs of seven large and medium arts organizations and community non-profits to aid their ability to provide quality community programs, services, and resources. 2025 awardees include: Binghamton Philharmonic Inc, Roberson Museum, Tri-Cities Opera Company, GOODWILL THEATRE INC & Firehouse Stage, The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier, Endicott Performing Arts Ctr, and LUMA Projection Arts Festival. 2025 UCF Project awards support the work of 12 individual artists and smaller community arts projects with grants of $1,000 each. 2025 awardees include: BINGHAMTON COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA, BINGHAMTON DOWNTOWN SINGERS INC, THE BINGHAMTON YOUTH SYMPHONY INC, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, James Budinich, Music in The Glen, NANTICOKE VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, PHELPS MANSION MUSEUM, Southern Tier Singers Collective, Stephen Schweitzer, SUMMER SAVOYARDS INC., and Truth Pharm.
