We are grateful to Seminole County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Dennis Lemma for testifying in front of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, which is chaired by Senator Rick Scott. The hearing was titled "Combating the Opioid Epidemic" and focused on how overdoses and poisonings are affecting our aging population including many grandparents who are caring for their grandchildren who have been affected by overdoses.

I am honored to have been part of the leadership team, under the direction of Colonel Rick Fuentes, in coordinating the 10th annual Interstate 95 Working Group (I95WG) conference, held earlier this week in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The event brought together over 160 law enforcement leaders from Florida to Maine, as well as representatives from Canada, to address some of the most pressing challenges facing public safety along the I-95 corridor. Be sure to visit the I95 website at www.I-95.org for more information on upcoming events. ? In my official capacity leading global policing initiatives with the Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience, I had the privilege of moderating a panel discussion featuring senior Canadian law enforcement leaders that focused on leveraging technology for modern policing from a Canadian perspective. Panelists included Chief Superintendent Pat Morris from the Ontario Provincial Police, A/Inspector Jon Rose from the Toronto Police Service, and Chief Peter Lambrinakos (Ret.), O.O.M, from the University of Ottawa Professional Development Institute. We are proud to continue fostering strong partnerships with our Canadian law enforcement colleagues. Their active participation in this year’s I95WG conference underscores the importance of cross-border collaboration in tackling transnational crime and strengthening public safety efforts. ? A special thank you to all the speakers, panelists, and attendees who contributed to the success of this event. Looking forward to continuing these critical discussions and advancing innovative solutions together. ? #LawEnforcement #PublicSafety #Policing #Collaboration #IntelligenceSharing #TechnologyInPolicing #MillerCenter #I95WG
