  • February was Love the Bus month, and our district came together to show appreciation for our incredible transportation department! This dedicated group plays a vital role in our education system, ensuring our students get to and from school safely every day. To wrap up the month in a special way, our amazing community partner, Whataburger, stepped up to show their gratitude by donating breakfast for the entire transportation team! But that’s not all! Students from Creekwood Elementary also shared their appreciation by covering the walls at the transportation office with heartfelt notes of encouragement! Seeing their kind words was a powerful reminder of the impact our bus drivers have every day.

  • Full circle moment! ???? You never forget the teachers who make a difference in your life. For Freshman Academy Principal Malinda Silva, that moment came full circle when her former teacher, Ms. Rea, surprised her with a special gift—a teddy bear, just like the ones from their cherished "teddy bear days" in the classroom. This heartfelt gesture is a reminder of the lasting impact educators have on their students, long after they leave the classroom. To our incredible teachers—thank you for choosing public education and, most importantly, for choosing Broken Arrow.

  • Spring is in the air, and we’re reminiscing about the time Ms. Schultz’s 3rd graders at Highland Park explored plant life cycles with their classroom hydroponic gardens! ? When their lettuce was ready to harvest, they celebrated with a salad feast—some even tried salad for the first time! They’re also growing cherry tomatoes, jalape?os and a variety of flowers. Hands-on learning at its finest!

  • RETIRED BA EDUCATORS: Earlier last month, we had the privilege of hosting a special brunch for our retired educators, celebrating their incredible contributions to our district and keeping them updated on all the exciting things happening in BA! We were thrilled to have some of our students join us, sharing their experiences as proud Broken Arrow Tigers. • Liam Himes, a 7th grader at Oliver Middle School, has a new passion, thanks to some amazing BA teachers. Liam faced some challenges when he transferred to a new school, but everything changed when he found his love for the violin. Check out this ArrowVision story! https://lnkd.in/gcqdbCFD

  • ??National Contest Winner: Sequoyah Middle School’s Kimberly Murray is one of 300 State Finalists in the prestigious Samsung Solve for Tomorrow US competition. She is only one of five from Oklahoma! This national competition challenges students in grades 6-12 to apply STEM skills to create innovative solutions for critical local issues. The Sequoyah team is tackling tornado damage assessment using drones to aid communities in hard-to-reach areas, like those affected by Oklahoma’s devastating Nov. 3 tornado. Students are learning to build, fly and understand the real-world applications of drones—preparing them for future careers in this cutting-edge field.
