We've taken a major step to modernize how our services communicate by integrating NATS and JetStream into our architecture. This shift has allowed us to decouple services, ensure message persistence, and scale efficiently as we grow. ?? Why the Change? ?? Our old setup relied on synchronous request-response calls, which introduced bottlenecks, reduced reliability, and limited scalability. Enter NATS and JetStream: a lightweight pub/sub messaging system with durable message storage that’s a game-changer for distributed systems like ours. ?? The Results ?? With this integration, we’ve streamlined communication, reduced downtime, and built a foundation for scaling effortlessly. We’re now better equipped to handle spikes in traffic, add new features without disrupting existing flows, and ensure no message is left behind. Curious about the nitty-gritty of how we implemented this? ?? Check out the full technical breakdown here: https://lnkd.in/g79D2cm6 Whether you’re considering NATS or already using it, we’d love to hear your thoughts or tips. ?? #CloudEngineering #NATS #JetStream #EventDrivenArchitecture #TechDeepDive #Helm #DevOps #Modernization

At Brokee, we recently overhauled our microservices architecture, moving from a tangled, hard-to-manage system to a reliable event-driven design with NATS.io and JetStream. Mykhailo A put together a detailed blog post about how we: ?? Used NATS request-reply, JetStream, and queue groups to improve high availability ?? Leveraged Kubernetes to simplify the deployment and scaling of NATS ?? Learned valuable lessons while modernizing our architecture If you’re interested in how we approached this transformation, the blog link is in the first comment. #Microservices #EventDrivenArchitecture #NATS #JetStream #DevOps

????? How We Reduced Our Google Cloud Bill by 65% ??? ?? ?? TL;DR: We cut our Google Cloud bill from $687/month to $247/month with some creative optimizations: ● Reduced reliance on stable on-demand instances ● Consolidated dev and prod environments ● Fine-tuned logging ● Optimized workload scheduling Most of our infrastructure is on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), so many tips focus on Kubernetes. ?? Key Takeaways: - Stable Instances: We migrated workloads to HA setups, accepted minor downtime for internal tools, and relied on auto-provisioning for temporary needs. - Consolidated Environments: We merged dev and prod environments using tools like vcluster, saving on clusters, nodes, and shared infrastructure. - Logging: Disabled noisy info logs from the GKE control plane, reducing Cloud Logging costs by ~$100/month. - Workload Scheduling: Pre-created node pools with autoscaling and opted for older instance types for further savings. ?? Why It Matters: For startups like ours, every dollar saved extends our runway. These strategies are also scalable, so whether you’re running a small app or a big enterprise, you can implement similar cost optimizations. ?? I just got a bill from Google Cloud for the month of November and happy to see that we reduced our costs by 65%, from $687/month to $247/month. Would you like to see a blog post about that? Comment yes or write your guess on how we did it - we are running mostly on GKE. I'll probably write it if there is enough interest: 20-30 upvotes. This is one of those situations on how to optimize at a small scale, but most of the things can be applied to big-scale setups as well. #cloud #costs #gke

Our founder, ???? Maksym Lushpenko, was featured in Entrepreneur Media for his insights on How Startups Can Use Capital Efficiency to Stay Ahead! ?? ?? "Instead of building and maintaining an expensive, always-on cloud infrastructure, we developed a system that spins up cloud environments only when users are actively taking assessments," Maksym shared. This on-demand approach doesn't just save costs—it optimizes performance and delivers an amazing experience for our users. At Brokee, we're all about doing more with less. Here's how: ?? On-demand cloud labs: Pay-as-you-go environments reduce overhead costs without compromising on quality. ?? Automation at scale: Automated grading and reporting means we grow smarter, not bigger. ?? User-focused design: Everything is tailored to actual needs, ensuring maximum value for every dollar spent. Ukrainian version below | Укра?нська верс?я нижче Three weeks ago, my mom called me on video, her face heavy with worry. “I have something to tell you, but you have to promise me you won’t do anything rash and will stay where you are,” she said. My heart sank. I promised her I’d stay calm, and that’s when she told me my brother Ruslan had been reported missing in action. In war, “missing in action” can mean many things: he might be injured and hiding, he could be captured, or he may have been killed but his body hasn’t been found or retrieved yet. Tragically, russian forces often shell relentlessly, making it impossible to recover the wounded or fallen soldiers. Ruslan is more than a soldier. He is the father of two young children: Sofia, 4 years old, and Denys, 2. His wife, Maryana, is now left to grieve while trying to raise their children and navigate life without him. My family is doing everything we can to support her, but it’s not enough to fill the void Ruslan has left behind. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Your donation can make an immediate difference, easing Maryana’s burden and providing stability for Ruslan's children during this heartbreaking time. While government aid might come eventually, it’s not immediate—and it’s not guaranteed. This is where your support can change lives. Any contribution shows Maryana she’s not alone. Let’s stand together for Ruslan’s family and his contribution to protecting Ukraine and the free world. ???? Thank you for your kindness. (donation links in the first comment) -------------------------- Три тижн?
