TL;DR: We cut our Google Cloud bill from $687/month to $247/month with some creative optimizations: ● Reduced reliance on stable on-demand instances ● Consolidated dev and prod environments ● Fine-tuned logging ● Optimized workload scheduling Most of our infrastructure is on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), so many tips focus on Kubernetes. ?? I just got a bill from Google Cloud for the month of November and happy to see that we reduced our costs by 65%, from $687/month to $247/month. Would you like to see a blog post about that? Comment yes or write your guess on how we did it - we are running mostly on GKE. I'll probably write it if there is enough interest: 20-30 upvotes.
