Since Avaya announced that they were only going to be focusing on their 1500 largest customers, the following announcements have been made: ?? From June 30, 2025, Avaya AXP customers will have a 200-seat minimum agent commitment. If they don’t increase licenses to match this, they will have to terminate their subscription. ?? From April 28, 2025 end of sale and discontinuation of the Avaya SIP Trunking cloud service? ?? From April 28, 2025 end of sale of Avaya Communications APIs (CPaaS) cloud service ?? Closure of the Middle East office effective March 7th, 2025. Already shut other global offices. ?? Continued layoffs and downsizing across Europe and Middle East in line with G1500 deployments What this means for the market: ?? Lots of opportunities for competition to win their SME and mid-market customers. A big advantage for Zoom if their partnership starts ticking but also expect many others to bring new logos onboard. ?? Opportunities for BYOC providers to enable Avaya deployments with their SIP Trunks. Expect companies like Bandwidth Inc., Colt Technology Services and Gamma etc. to be looking to take advantage of this. ?? Lots of good people entering the market with lots of experience and trusted relationships in the contact center market. We see a skills gap across contact center so opportunities for companies to bring in some great new hires.
