Britain isn’t working well for many of us right now. The cost of energy, housing, and food are too high, while decent jobs with real prospects are hard to come by. It wasn’t always like this. British science and engineering shaped the modern world. We built the first railways, first coal-fired power station, and split the atom. Life got better in Britain because of it. Britain Remade is a campaign that believes we can do it again. We will advocate on your behalf and put forward practical ideas to make sure new industries are built in Britain. Let’s get back to what we’re good at. Join the Campaign ?? https://www.britainremade.co.uk/

We're getting the worst of both worlds from the current planning system. Environmental protections block building but don't protect nature effectively. The Government's Planning and Infrastructure Bill could fix this, but only if it contains the right changes. We've put together an email outlining the changes required to make the bill a success at getting us building again and protecting nature more effectively. Send it to your MP here: https://lnkd.in/e7raViJV

Today's nuclear announcement could pave the way for cheaper, quicker-to-build small modular reactors all over the country. The key is to get the planning process right, so that when the technology is ready, we're ready to build - as our Head of Research Benjamin Hopkinson explains on GB News.

Building homes near existing stations is so much easier than building new transport infrastructure. Sam Dumitriu makes the case for new homes and denser neighbourhoods near stations to Vanessa Feltz on LBC.

Why is it so expensive to build new nuclear power in Britain? Our head of policy Sam Dumitriu explains why, and why it doesn't have to be.
