Our Farm Teachers instruct Bring the Farm to You curriculum around central Ohio, exciting audiences about agriculture and farm life! This is a fun, rewarding position and an opportunity to serve our central Ohio community through exciting farm experiences! Our ideal candidates are reliable, have formal or informal teaching experience, are animal lovers, have dynamic public speaking skills, and are able to hold the attention of a group giving them an experience to remember! We're looking to hire people who currently work as Substitute Teachers! Why? Because we'd love to give Substitutes some fun outside assignments as a Bring the Farm to You Farm Teacher! ?? We've found that Substitute Teachers are ideal teachers for our programs because: 1. They have a flexible schedule and can choose to work as much or as little as they'd like by simply accepting teaching assignments. Meaning that during our slow season (winter), they can work more in the schools, but during our busy seasons (spring through fall), they have the flexibility to work more farm programs with us. 2. They're used to variable learning environments. Our audience is always changing and we love the on-the-spot skills that Substitute Teachers have! 3. They have lots of experience teaching, and likely love working with kids. 4. They love learning new things. (We provide all the training they’ll need!)
