The opioid health crisis has made reentry into the community a literal do or die scenario for the justice involved. Death from an opioid overdose is a leading cause of death during their first 90 days of reentry. There are well-established, proven-effective treatment methods available to help the justice involved reach sustained recovery from a substance use disorder. But far too often, medication for addiction treatment (MAT) as part of a comprehensive treatment program is not considered a viable option. Join us tomorrow as Susan Fish, a BrightView Outreach Manager, walks through the science behind MAT and its effectiveness in helping the justice involved reintegrate with their communities. BrightView is an approved education provider for the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and offers one continuing education credit for attending this event. Although MAT is an effective and great choice for addiction treatment, it does not cure everything. Behavioral Health is a critical part of treatment because it helps patients heal internally, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and provide resources to help them get their feet back on the ground.?? #behavioralhealth #mentalhealth #therapy #counseling #addictiontreatment #recovery
