As #HispanicHeritageMonth comes to an end, we want to share an inspiring journey to US citizenship. Karla, a community living client, moved to the US from Nicaragua at 17 years old and began living in the Franklinton, Louisiana, community home in 2016. With the help of her aunt, uncle, and several community living team members, Karla achieved her dream of becoming an American citizen. Karla is proud of her Nicaraguan heritage and wanted to become a US citizen because she sees our country as the land of opportunity. Congratulations, Karla! We are so proud to be a part of your journey.

Today, there are many resources and healthy discussions about mental health, but there's still more work to do. Let's work to remove the stigma and continue to advocate for better treatment and support for those affected. #WorldMentalHealthDay
