The wheels vs. legs debate is a staple in humanoid #robotics. The case for legs is simple: humans have legs, and we’ve built the world for humans, so humanoids should have legs. But let’s consider: - Pregnant mothers with strollers - People with disabilities - Cars and bicycles There’s a reason 99% of land-based transportation uses wheels – wheels are cheaper, faster, and easier to design and maintain than legs. You don’t see people arguing that bicycles should have legs instead of wheels. And our cities and infrastructure have been designed with this in mind. This isn't purely an engineering problem. I love solving hard problems. But consider the incremental energy costs and resources needed for legs vs wheels. Now multiply that by the billions #robots we will have in the world. Evolution gave us no choice but to have legs. Let’s fix this with smart #engineering.
