Conical heads are often used for process equipment, including evaporators, spray driers, crystallizers, and settling tanks. Cones enable the accumulation and removal of solids at the bottom of the head. Conical sections can be formed on rolling equipment used to roll cylinders. ?? Here are a few ways to reduce exposure: ?? Wear proper protective gear for the job at hand ?? Know the materials and the risks of every project ?? Clean any welding surface of coating that could create toxic fumes ?? • Chasity Asher is an X-ray technician at Brighton Tru-Edge. She credits much of her success in construction to the support and guidance she received from her father and the mentorship she received from senior men in the shop. She also gets positive encouragement from female coworkers. These influences have been pivotal in helping her build her career. When it comes to recruiting other women into the field, Chasity emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and respectful work environment. She adds that we should "form partnerships with high schools, vocational schools, and universities to increase the exposure to the trade industry." Chasity’s biggest professional accomplishment in 2024 was passing several significant tests, including IRRSP (radiation safety), NDT RT Level 1, and becoming a union boilermaker. Well done, Chasity! ?? We are so lucky to have you on the team. #WICWeek #WICWeek25 #WomenInConstructionWeek2025
