?? Membership Spotlight Friday: Celebrating NTA Member Teresa Lubovich! ?? How do you explain 20+ years of doing the BEST work around? For Teresa Lubovich, tutoring is truly the BEST JOB! Teresa's journey began in 2005 when she joined the NTA and received her basic level certification. Starting from humble beginnings around her kitchen table, she was hired to tutor for a local family while also cleaning houses in her spare time. As word spread about her amazing work, Teresa's business quickly grew, leading her to hire her first tutor in 2010. Fast forward to today, and Teresa now leads a team of 20 tutors offering K-12 subjects (including SAT and ACT test prep) and supporting adult learners both in-office and virtually across the U.S. Her team is currently in 19 states and counting! Teresa’s success is driven by a unique approach called “CONNECTION BEFORE CONTENT.” Through years of working with hundreds of families, she discovered that students often need a connection with a kind, caring adult even more than academic help. Once that bond is established, trust grows, and learning becomes more engaging and effective. This model has become the foundation of her tutoring methods, and she continues to train her team to prioritize connection with each student. Expanding her services, Teresa now offers cognitive support programs designed to address the processing skills that can make learning difficult. This holistic approach is changing lives, helping students not only succeed in school but also build a brighter future. On a personal note, Teresa is also a proud gramma to two boys, has two black labs, and lives near Seattle. She works alongside her husband, who joined the team in 2018, making it a true family effort! As a Senior Board Member of the NTA and an advanced certified tutor, mentor, and academic coach, Teresa is dedicated to empowering others to embrace this transformative model.
