Sadly, these valuable ecosystems are under threat.? Deforestation, wildfires, invasive species, pests, and diseases are putting forests at risk. ?? That’s why International Day of Forests is such a crucial reminder for us all to pay attention and take action! ?? ??Every year, about 10 million hectares of forest are lost to deforestation.** Tropical Asia is the only region on track to stop deforestation by 2030!*** ?? These standards took effect January 2025, and will require Australian businesses to disclose comprehensive climate-related financial information, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, climate risks, and opportunities. The ASRS aligns with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) guidelines, ensuring global consistency and transparency in sustainability reporting. Key points to note: 1?? Who needs to report? Large companies meeting specific thresholds (e.g., $500M+ revenue, $1B+ assets, or 500+ employees) must comply starting in 2025. 2?? What is required? Mandatory disclosures include climate-related risks, governance, and emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3). 3?? Phased rollout: Smaller companies will begin reporting in 2026 and 2027.
