It was great to speak to Laurie Sullivan at MediaPost recently. ? ?? Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation. ? ?? 1. Following Google earnings call, BrightEdge Generative Parser? has been analyzing actual text in AIOs, which helps us see how they understand and respond to user queries. ? ?? "People are asking longer and more complex questions and exploring a wider range of websites" – Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai ? Our data reveals a clear focus on early-stage research behavior and gives marketers more insights into crucial AIO patterns for which to optimize. ?? ? ·????????AIOs are focused on helping with early research of topics, with 81% providing broad knowledge and high-level overviews of the subject. ·????????Some 39.8% use list structures that are easy to scan, and 1.4% provide specific step-by-step guidance on a task or product. ·????????Based on how AI Overviews respond to queries, it's clear the focus is on discovery and research vs. transaction. ·????????AIOs are optimized for early-stage research and discovery. ? ?? 2.
