Congratulations to the MassDEP for leading the charge in food waste reduction. As highlighted in this recent article from The Washington Post, the state's innovative food waste bans are making a real difference in combatting climate change and reducing landfill waste. ?? At Bright Feeds, we are grateful for partnering in Massachusetts with our food waste transfer station in Oxford, MA. We share this vision with the state by turning food waste into nutrient-rich animal feed, helping the environment while supporting local agriculture. We’re proud to be part of a community that’s committed to sustainability. Amazing work by MassDEP and everyone involved in these groundbreaking initiatives! On Earth Day we are thrilled to share a glimpse of our new food waste transfer station in Oxford, Massachusetts. Opened in January 2024, this facility is permitted to take in 300 tons of food waste per day, marking a significant stride towards a greener future. Last week Tim Rassias, co-founder President and COO, and Christopher Rassias, VP Business Development, hosted Rob Gogan and MassRecycle with a tour of this new facility and to share how sustainability is at the core of everything we do. This facility not only diverts organic waste from landfills but also takes it a step further by de-packaging materials and transferring to our Connecticut processing facility where we converted into a highly-nutritious animal feed. By transforming waste into valuable resources, we're not just reducing landfill pressure, but also contributing to a more circular economy. Together, let's celebrate Earth Day by taking meaningful actions towards a healthier planet for all. Happy Earth Day! ???? #EarthDay #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #FoodWaste #WasteManagement

Thank you Connecticut Innovations for touring our facility! Tim Rassias, and our whole team at Bright Feeds, enjoyed showing you how we process unwanted food into high-quality animal feed.
On day two of our Tour de Connecticut bike ride across the state, we traveled from Middletown to Berlin bright and early for our first meeting. ?? Part of CI’s ClimateTech Fund portfolio, Bright Feeds is a waste management company solving for global food insecurity challenges by turning unwanted food into high-quality nutritious animal feed. ?? Lucky for us, president and COO Tim Rassias had a megaphone handy and gave us a tour of the entire facility, showing us how the company creates a consistent, environmentally conscious, and more affordable option for feeding livestock. ?? Don’t waste any time… take a closer look at our portfolio company, Bright Feeds.
