Remembering those who gave all.
On this Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and its values. While many will celebrate with backyard barbecues and take advantage of holiday sales, let us not lose sight of the true meaning behind this solemn occasion. We owe a debt of gratitude to the fallen heroes who laid down their lives so that we could continue enjoying the liberties and freedoms we cherish today. Their courage and selflessness allow us to gather safely with loved ones, secure in the knowledge that we live in a nation protected by their honorable service. As you celebrate this weekend, take a moment to reflect on the immense sacrifices of our military members throughout history and rededicate yourself to upholding the ideals they fought so valiantly to preserve.

What is one common aspect across all military service branches, and across all ranks? Transitional Impact.??Every member and their family experiences moving orders, sometimes shorter than the expected 2-3 year rotation.??Research shows that it takes the average person 6-18 months before their new environment becomes “normal” again.?? A new place to live, new base, new friends & neighbors, new church & small group; everything changing, almost on a perfectly timed cycle.??This cycle impacts life by disrupting the established patterns, to include daily quiet time with God and community with a church and/or small group.??Ultimately, impacting one’s spiritual walk and leaving many isolated and easily influenced by evil forces. Maintaining a connection to a community helps promote healthy habits and a strong support system to get you through these transitions.?

Brigade Ministries?is in the final stages of the development and is?launching this Spring?an online platform aimed at helping provide support for Christian military men and women, whether at home, abroad, or in the many transitions faced being in the military.??A place to?Connect,?Grow, and?Share?life. Additionally, we are in the early stages of developing resources aimed at assisting those who are Jesus curios or followers of Christ. Material specifically focused around being a sailor, airman, soldier, or Marine.???
