We envision a world where poverty caused by rural isolation no longer exists.
关于我们
Bridges to Prosperity envisions a world where poverty caused by rural isolation no longer exists. Rural isolation is a root cause of poverty, and we believe that connection is the foundation to opportunity. We work with local communities, partners, governments, private sector, and institutions to build trail bridges that connect residents to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. With a sophisticated data collection and evaluation program, we can prove that the value and impact of our work is sustained long after the opening celebration.

Last month, we made significant strides in constructing trail bridges across Ethiopia! Currently, 39 bridges are under construction across Amhara (6), Oromia (21), South (3), Central (5), and Sidama (3) regions. We're on track to complete all these bridges before the end of 2024. The Transformative Rural Access for Improved Livelihood (TRAIL) project, in partnership with the Ethiopian government and Helvetas, is driving these critical efforts to improve access and livelihoods in rural communities.

Mutumba Suspension Bridge is a lifeline for over 7,000 people across the Mutumba River! A dedicated team of ten Jacobs employees from around the globe, along with B2P team members and local community workers, came together to bring this vision to life. Their combined skills and passion have created a bridge to drive positive, lasting change for the communities it supports. With more than one in seven rural residents facing challenges to reach jobs, schools, and healthcare due to lack of connectivity, this project is a vital step towards transformative change.

Bridges to Prosperity is featured in the latest episode of the BBC series The Human Component, a documentary-style film presented by CTATech and produced for us by BBC StoryWorks. This episode spotlights our groundbreaking AI tool, Fika Map, which is transforming access to essential services in rural communities around the world. We recently celebrated this achievement with a special screening in Bundimulinga, Uganda, where the community watched their story unfold on the big screen. Muregeya Trail Bridge project in the depth of the Karongi district, in Rwanda! This 115-meter hybrid suspension bridge over the Muregeya River is a testament to the power of collaboration and determination. Sidara companies Dar, TYLin, and Introba joined forces with Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) to make this dream a reality. From almost 40 applicants, 10 exceptional volunteers were chosen, bringing their technical expertise to this life-changing endeavor. Each day began with a challenging hike up and down the mountain, followed by hard work under the African sun. Our team didn't just build a bridge—they built connections, learning and growing alongside local workers. Together, we’re making safe access a human right!
